MONTEREY MARRIOTT, Monterey – A Smart Stay in the City

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. While the rooms were available at the Marriott a day later and had a check-in time of 4 pm with a view, the service was a bit chaotic down the 5 flights of stairs outside. However, the staff were super helpful and accommodating, making it a safe choice for a single mom traveling with children. The location allowed for easy walks to dinner and was close to the waterfront attractions, but there were some issues with the valet and overall confusion in the hotel.

The hotel is located near all the action with easy access to Alverado Street, Fishermans Wharf, and other top spots. The rooms are fully remodeled, beautiful, and within walking distance to the Wharf and Cannery Row. The service was a mix of highs and lows, with some staff being very friendly while others felt a bit cold at first. The dining experience offered a nice variety but could improve on special occasions like Mother's Day. The location is superb for exploring Monterey and nearby attractions. All in all, a nice stay with room for a bit more warmth and attention to detail.

The hotel is ideally located near Fisherman's Wharf and many good restaurants, but the rooms weren't as depicted on the website and come with additional charges for Wi-Fi and parking.

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The room was not very clean upon check-in but had a convenient microwave oven. However, during the Monterey Classic Car event, the room was cleaned up, and the bed was comfortable. Some minor improvements are needed for furniture and wall refreshening.
